Frostguard
Sentinels of the frozen north. Frostguard starts with Organized Warfare and a Defender, and its hero, the Glacier Warden (an armoured guardian of the glaciers), is one of the toughest units in the game and hits hardest from the snow.

Play style
Defend the tundra, then push out with the Glacier Warden at the front of the line.
Starting unit: Defender
Defender: 3 stars, 12 HP, attack 1, defence 3, 2 damage, moves 1, range 1.
Hero: Glacier Warden
The Glacier Warden is an armoured guardian of the glaciers. Very tough. Deals +50% damage when attacking from snow (tundra).
24 HP, attack 3, defence 4, 5 damage, moves 1, range 1. A city recruits the hero for free when it reaches level 5, and again at level 10.
Frostguard strategy
- Use Defenders to hold villages and your capital. Archery is your next Military tech; Swordsmen (Smithing) come later and also need Mining.
- Tundra has no defence bonus of its own, so look for hills (x1.25) and mountains (x1.5) when you need to hold a line.
- The Glacier Warden (24 HP, defence 4) deals +50% damage when attacking from tundra. Fight on your own snow.
- Mines go on ore, found on mountain tiles. Mining comes after Agriculture and Forestry, and it's also needed for Smithing.
