Tideborn
A sea tribe that commands the deep. The Tideborn start with Sailing and a Scout Boat, and their hero, the Leviathan (a colossal sea monster), is the most powerful ship in the game.

Play style
Explore the sea first: sea ruins, coastal villages and enemy coasts are yours to find before anyone else has a boat.
Starting unit: Scout Boat
Scout Boat: 3 stars, 10 HP, attack 1, defence 1, 2 damage, moves 3, range 1.
Hero: Leviathan
The Leviathan is a colossal sea monster. The toughest and hardest-hitting ship in the game.
24 HP, attack 4, defence 3, 7 damage, moves 3, range 1, a ship. A city recruits the hero for free when it reaches level 5, and again at level 10.
Tideborn strategy
- Your Scout Boat moves 3. Explore the coast early: sea ruins can only be reached by boat and give a tech, 15 stars or a Swordsman.
- Shipbuilding (Galleys) needs Forestry as well as Sailing, so research Agriculture and Forestry early; you'll want real warships before enemies reach your coast.
- The Leviathan (24 HP, 7 damage) is the strongest ship in the game. Use it to break naval blockades and shell coastal cities.
- Water tiles give defenders 0.9x, so enemy ships are slightly easier to hit than units on land.
